54th anniversary

Koriyama Aikikai is an officially recognized dojo of the Aikikai Foundation.

Founded in April 1971 at the Butokuden Hall in Shimizudai, Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture, the association joined the Koriyama City Sports Association the following year in 1972. Currently, a wide range of members, regardless of age or gender, practice aikido, primarily at the Koriyama General Gymnasium's Judo Hall and the Central Community Center. For many years, the association has received guidance from the late Shihan Arikawa Sadateru of the Aikikai Honbu Dojo Foundation, and in its early days, received support from the Aikido Club of the College of Engineering, Nihon University, a fellow association member, to develop the association and promote aikido. As an association beloved by the citizens of the city, with a spirit of universal aiki (love), we will continue to work to develop the Koriyama Aikikai and promote aikido.
