Aikido

Koriyama Aikikai is an officially recognized dojo of the Aikikai Foundation.

The association was established in April 1971 at the Butokuden Hall in Shimizudai, Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture, and joined the Koriyama City Athletics Association the following year in 1972. Currently, a wide range of members, regardless of age or gender, practice Aikido mainly at the Judo Hall of the Koriyama General Gymnasium and the Central Community Center. For many years, the association has been guided by the late Shihan Arikawa Sadaki of the Aikikai Headquarters Dojo, and in the early days, it received support for the teaching system from the Aikido Club of the College of Engineering of Nihon University, which is an association friend, and has worked to develop the association and spread Aikido. With the spirit of the universal Aiki (love energy), and as an association loved by the citizens, we will work to develop the Koriyama Aikikai and spread Aikido.
